The Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque (masjid) is the largest mosque of Malaysia and the second largest mosque in Southeast Asia after Istiqlal Mosque in in Indonesia (Jakarta). It is also know as Blue Mosque, due to the color of its large Dome. The masjid has four minarets of the same color as that of the dome. Each corner has one Minaret.
I offered Maghrib Salah in this masjid on 20th June 2012. The Salah looked different to me in some context as this was my first time to offer Shafi madhhab (which is one of the four fiqh in Sunni Islam).
Blue Mosque offers wifi also, which I used to update my facebook status. Here’s what my status was:
A mosque with wifi …. Offered maghrib namaz in the largest msque f malaysia and one of the largest mosque in the world …. Malaysian version of namaz is a bit different
The Blue Dome
It is located in Shah Alam. Details of Shah Alam can be found here. As a whole Shah Alam is a quiet city and the atmosphere of this mosque makes it even attractive.
I found it difficult to find a taxi when came out of the main gate of the masjid. After waiting for couple of minutes, I called the number (for calling the taxi). It took couple of more minutes for the taxi to arrive after my call. Better to call earlier without waiting to find a taxi as a luck.
