Pakistani Embassy in Muscat is located in the neighborhood of Madinat As Sultan Qaboos. The address is Building NO.1702, Plot No.1629/1/4، 2133 Al Bashair St.
The nearest landmark to the embassy is Al Madina Plaza, in Arabic المدينة بلازا, on Al Bashair Street. The Embassy is at walking distance from this mall.
If you don’t find parking space besides the embassy, this is where you can park the vehicle and can walk.
Check the Google Map location of Pakistan Embassy.
This was my first visit to Pakistan Embassy in Muscat and it was in September 2019.
The following documents photocopies are required to apply for the renewal.
It is advisable to take the copies of these documents with you for the application. If you forgot to bring, its not a problem, you can make the photocopies from the photocopy service available at the embassy.
Bring you original passport and the Omani Residence card with you for the renewal of the passport.
The first process for the application is to take the token, which will be your turn number. Next you have to pay for the passport renewal fees. The fees varies based on the validity and the number of pages in the passport.
On your turn, you will be called inside the room, where camera and computers are present. You photograph will be taken and then you will be issued the slip for passport collection.
If you are with a family, you can request for prompt services, which is honored by the embassy. It took me just few minutes to complete the application process.
My case was of Exhausted passport (renewal before the expiry date), and in this case, you have to be personally present for the renewal as your photograph will be taken.
But if its for the renewal due to the expiry of the validity, you can apply online and there is no requirement to come to the embassy.
You have a selection of around 6 passports (Ordinary Passport). These variations are due to the difference in validity period and number of pages. Below are the types of Passports:
While renewing the passport, you will have an option to opt for the normal or the urgent passport. If you are pressed for the time and need to renew it on urgent basis, then you should apply for the urgent passport, which will be received within 14 days. The fees for the urgent passport is almost doubled than the normal one.
If you don’t have any urgency, you can apply for the normal passport, which will be received within 30 days.
The above delivery dates is for renewals from the Oman Embassy in Muscat. For Machine Readable Passport (MRP) that are renewed within Pakistan, will be available within 4 days (urgent) and 10 days (normal) for its delivery after being successfully processed.
Passport collection from the embassy in Muscat is simple process. The original slip of the application is to be presented for the collection. The delivery time is 9 am to 1 pm and 3 pm to 4 pm.
You can check the status of the passport via Pakistan Embassy Whatsapp Number +968 9857 7644.
