This beginner-friendly trail combines stunning panoramic views, lush greenery, and a rewarding summit experience. Named after its resemblance to the famous Adam’s Peak, this smaller sibling offers an equally magical experience without the strenuous climb. Starting Point: The trail begins near the 98 Acres Resort & Spa or the Ella Flower Garden Resort. Both spots are a short tuk-tuk ride or a 15-minute walk from Ella Town.

  • Walking: From Ella Town, follow signs for 98 Acres Resort. The path to Little Adam’s Peak is clearly marked from there.

First View Point of the Peak

The Google location of the first view point on the hike: https://maps.app.goo.gl/c9qiUZMFE2Yb3tct9

By this location, I also mean the other view points located within 100-200 meters around this view point. The hike uptill this point is fairly easy. Just need to keep in mind that there are many steps that will lead to this hike. If you are fine with that, the hike is nothing to worry about.

Most of the the tourists do the hike till here.

Second View Point of the Peak

The Google location for the last view point on the hike is https://maps.app.goo.gl/TvmaoWx68o5nmYyb8

Very fewer tourists hike till this point. The hike from the first to this last view point is moderate and in case of rain, the track can become slippery.

The Hiking Experience

  • Trail Length: The hike is about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) round trip.
  • Duration: It typically takes 1-1.5 hours, depending on how long you spend at the top enjoying the views.
  • Difficulty: Easy, with a few gentle inclines and well-maintained paths.

The trail meanders through picturesque tea plantations, offering photo opportunities at every turn. Along the way, you’ll pass small cafes where you can grab refreshments.

Best Time to Hike

  • Morning: Start your hike early to catch the sunrise and enjoy cooler temperatures.
  • Evening: For a dramatic sunset, begin your hike an hour before dusk.

Avoid mid-day hikes as the sun can be intense, especially during Sri Lanka’s dry season.
