Praying Friday Prayer at Doha Airport Mosque

Muslims pray five times a day, while traveling they can combine two prayers of the afternoon (Zuhr and Asr) and two prayers of the evening (Maghrib and Isha) together to make one.

Where can Muslim Pray Inside Terminal?

During transit at Hamad International Airport, Muslims can pray inside the terminal building. There are many praying places inside. There are separate rooms for both men and women.

Friday Prayer at Doha Airport Mosque

Are you travelling on Friday and want to pray the afternoon prayer? I arrived Doha at 10:50 am (plan landing time) and was not sure where would I pray the Friday prayer. Friday prayer time in Doha in June is around 11:40 am.

As weekly Friday prayer requires a larger congregation, it couldn’t be offered at the prayer rooms inside the terminal. I was thinking if I could get to the city before prayer time, I would pray at some mosque in Doha.

But after asking people in the Airport (while taking Rent a Car at Doha Airport), I came to know there’s a mosque where I can pray Friday prayer. Alhumdulilah

How to Reach Doha Airport Mosque?

After completing immigration (Citizen of 80 countries can get Visa on Arrival in Qatar), there are two walking bridges that can take you to the mosque from the Arrival – besides the East and West Parking Areas.

Exterior of the Mosque

Doha Airport Mosque is Ma sha Allah a beautiful praying place with modern architecture. The mosque mainly has a large glass dome building for praying and a tall minaret. The praying area building is circular.

Interior of the Mosque

The interior of the masid is as elegant as the exterior. There’s calligraphy on the top.

The most distinguished part of the mosque is the whole roof is of dome shape (like Tooba Mosque in Karachi). Most mosques in the world have domes (like Sultan Qaboos Mosque Salalah) but they are in the centre or at a certain place but not all over.

Another salient feature of the Dome is that it’s made of glass and has elegant circular pattern that looks like flower. The dome has great lighting in night with the lamps hanging from the top. The day lighting is via sunlight that comes inside mosque from the glass ceiling.
