To fly to Doha’s Hamad International Airport, I prefer Qatar Airways. It is one of my favorite airlines and a flight with Qatar Airways is a great experience. The on-board staff is motivated in making your journey pleasant. The food served is better than other airlines and on-board wifi is a great thing to have.

Hamad International Airport (IATA: DOH, ICAO: OTHH Arabic:مطار حمد الدولي) is an state of art modern airport in Doha, Capital City in Qatar. This country is hosting FIFA world cup in 2022, and would receive huge traffic with this airport, half of which is on reclaimed land from sea.
Once you arrive at the airport, proceed with signs Arrivals / Baggage claim and arrive outside of the terminal building.
Complete the immigration Process and Collect your baggage (if not transiting). Citizen of 80 countries can get Visa on Arrival at Qatar. I got Visa on Arrival as a Pakistani.
Ask Information at the arrival for Rent a Car offices or following the sign for parking or Rent a car offices.
There are couple of Rent a Car Kiosks including Bugdet, Avis, Eurocar, and Hertz.
When I arrived there, I checked with Europcar and Budget for the rates and found that Budget rate is better. So I picked the car from Budget.
NOTE: Budget is not charging any parking fee when returning the car at the airport, while Europcar was.
The guy at the counter was polite and helpful. He scanned my Oman Driving License and Passport. He asked for my Oman GSM number and email address and where I’m staying in Doha.
Budget pre-authorized QAR 1,000 on my card for any claims if arise, which will be hold for 21 days.
We were taken to Eastern Parking Area at the Lower Ground level for taking the vehicle. We got a 2019 model of Nissan Sunny, which ran just over 4,000 kilometers. The car was clean and in excellent shape.
Returning the vehicle was as simple as getting it. Park the vehicle at Short Term Parking area, in lower ground level of the airport. Note the parking location like A006 as shown in the photograph above and while returning key to Budget representative, tell them the location of Parking.
The Budget representative will then check the vehicle and if you haven’t returned the car with full fuel, Budget will charge you for fuel as well. At return, you will be charged for the per day cost and the fuel price.
